Required Qualifications

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A proficiency certificate not below National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 in the relevant field
• Qualification should be issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).

Internal Candidates

Applicants should either:

• Possess the qualifications required for external candidates

OR

• Be employees in Primary Level Semi Skilled (PL 2) or Un-skilled (PL 1) categories with:
  • Minimum 05 years of working experience in the relevant field
  • Skills not below NVQ Level 2 proven through a trade test.

Selection Method

Selection will be based on:

• Trade Test
• Structured Interview

Salary Scale

• Salary Scale:
  • LKR 43,280 – 67,040

Implementation as per Management Services Circular 01/2025:

• 2026 Salary: LKR 40,384
• 2027 Salary: LKR 43,280

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years
• Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
