Educational & Professional Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should:

• Have taken oaths as an Attorney-at-Law at the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka

AND

• Possess a minimum of three (03) years’ post-qualifying experience relevant to the field of Law in:
  • A Public Service institution
  • Corporation / Board / Statutory Board
  • Reputed Mercantile Establishment.

Internal Applicants

Internal candidates should possess the qualifications required for external applicants.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: MM 1-1 – Department of Management Service Circular No. 01/2025
• Salary Structure:
  Rs. 91,690 – 2480 x 10 – 3450 x 15 – Rs. 168,240/-
• Basic Salary from 01.01.2026: Rs. 81,710/- plus approved allowances.

Age Limit

• Applicants should be between 22 and 45 years of age
• Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

General Requirements

Every applicant should:

• Be a citizen of Sri Lanka
• Be physically and mentally fit to discharge duties and serve anywhere in the island
• Possess excellent moral character.
