Job Overview
Consumer Affairs Authority is inviting applications for the post of Management Assistant at the Head Office. The role involves administrative support, customer relations, database maintenance, accounting assistance, secretarial work, stores management, and IT-related operational support within the Authority.

Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Operating communication networks efficiently
- Maintaining good public relations with visitors and external parties
- Directing visitors to relevant divisions and units
- Word processing and typing of documents
- Maintaining and updating databases
- Handling correspondence under supervision
- Preparing accounting documents such as vouchers and travelling claims
- Maintaining cash books and petty cash books
- Assisting preparation of salaries and financial reports
- Maintaining EPF and ETF records
- Assisting cost analysis activities
- Maintaining file movement registers and records
- Assisting price inquiries and inquiry proceedings
- Handling secretarial work including letters, minutes, and reports
- Assisting stores management activities including GRNs and dispatch notes
- Assisting maintenance of stock records and stores ledgers
- Supporting information systems, software, hardware, and network maintenance
- Assisting technical committees related to IT equipment and solutions
- Reporting IT system breakdowns and maintaining consumable stock records
- Performing any other duties assigned by the relevant Director.
Educational Qualifications
External Applicants
Applicants should possess:
- Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with credit passes for four subjects including:
- Sinhala/Tamil
- English Language
- Mathematics
AND
- Passed three subjects (excluding General Paper) at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Internal Applicants
Employees in Primary Level Skilled and Unskilled categories may apply if they possess:
- The required G.C.E. O/L qualifications mentioned above
- Minimum five (05) years of satisfactory permanent service.
Salary & Allowances
- Salary Scale: MA 1-2 – 2025
Rs. 46,220 – 84,350 - Basic Salary (as at 01.01.2026): Rs. 43,312/-
- Additional cost of living and government-approved allowances will be paid.
Age Limit
- Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age
- Upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
General Requirements
Applicants should:
- Be citizens of Sri Lanka
- Be physically and mentally fit for service anywhere in the island
- Possess excellent moral character.
