Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Reviewing and monitoring patient medication therapy
• Identifying and preventing drug interactions, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions
• Providing drug information and clinical recommendations to doctors and healthcare staff
• Participating in ward rounds and multidisciplinary patient care discussions
• Monitoring antibiotic usage and supporting antimicrobial stewardship programs
• Counseling patients regarding medication use, side effects, and adherence
• Supporting medication safety and healthcare quality improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with hospital treatment guidelines and regulatory standards
• Assisting in formulary management and evaluation of new medications
• Conducting clinical audits, research, and staff education programs
• Supporting emergency response and critical care medication management

Entry Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) qualification (mandatory)
• Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) qualification will be an added advantage
• Valid Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
