Job Description

The Librarian will oversee library services, manage academic resources, and support students and faculty by ensuring access to relevant learning materials. The role requires strong organizational, research, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage library operations and resources
• Organize and maintain books, journals, and digital resources
• Support students and academic staff with research materials
• Maintain cataloguing and classification systems
• Ensure efficient library services across campuses
• Assist in developing and improving library systems

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Degree in Library Science from a recognized university

OR

• Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship (University of London or equivalent)

OR

• Passed First Examination in Library Science from a recognized university

OR

• Passed First Examination at Sri Lanka Library Association

Experience

• Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in:
  • University
  • OR Reputed educational institution

Eligibility

• Age between 22 – 45 years
• Must be a Sri Lankan citizen
• Physically and mentally fit
• Good moral character
